After 16 Months of Letters, Reports and Subpoenas, Will We Ever Get Truth on Fast and Furious?

House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy joined Rep. Darrell Issa last week to once again demand Attorney General Eric Holder come clean about his involvement in Operation Fast and Furious. The Republican leadership signed a May 18 letter asking more questions of the US Attorney General who has refused to provide subpoenaed documents to congressional investigators. The back-and-forth correspondence over the past 16 months may in the end provide a useful record of an Obama administration program which led to hundreds of murders. But for now the letters are little more than posturing...

Fast and Furious: Why Eric Holder Will Lose the Legal Fight

Federal courts could soon decide a fight between Congress and Attorney General Eric Holder on the Operation Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. If Republicans persevere, this is a battle that Holder should lose in what would be a humiliating defeat for President Barack Obama.  Most Americans have now heard that our government allowed drug cartels to illegally smuggle thousands of guns from the U.S. into Mexico. The National Rifle Association has relentlessly pursued the White House and Department of Justice (DOJ) about Fast and Furious for over a year, and the massive gun-rights organization has only increased its focus in...

Boehner pushes Obama to make Holder comply with Fast and Furious subpoena

House Speaker John Boehner reportedly pushed President Barack Obama on Wednesday to make Attorney General Eric Holder comply with the congressional subpoena of Operation Fast and Furious documents. Boehner was meeting for lunch with the president and “other congressional leaders” to discuss upcoming issues. An aide in Boehner’s office told The Daily Caller the president talked about his “to-do-list” and the group discussed several other major topics on the political horizon. The Boehner aide said one topic the Speaker brought up was Holder’s failure to comply with the Fast and Furious subpoena. “The Speaker also asked the President to encourage...

A Lack Of Class (gunwalker, murdergate)

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry died serving this country. In recognition of his service to this country, Rep. Darrell Issa sponsored HR 2668 - the Brian A. Terry Memorial Act - which renames the Border Patrol Station in Bisbee, Arizona in his memory. Having passed in the House it was sent to the Senate where last week it passed by a unaminous vote and was sent to the White House for the President's signature. Rep. Issa said, in part, in a release about this bill's passage: "All of Washington mourned with the Terry family when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry...

Obama memorials bury Fast and Furious law enforcement deaths(murdergate)

President Obama, as keynote speaker in yesterday’s 31st Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service held by the Fraternal Order of Police on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, elected not to address law enforcement lives lost in the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” scandal. While the name of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who died in December, 2010, would not have appeared on the 2011 roll call of the fallen being honored, the name of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata, slain in Mexico with a Fast and Furious weapon, was included on the roster. The President made no...

Sen. Cornyn: Holder’s ‘arrogance knows no bounds’

Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn told The Daily Caller on Wednesday that he thinks Attorney General Eric Holder needs to comply with the congressional subpoena demanding documents relating to Operation Fast and Furious. Cornyn also said he thinks Holder’s demonstrable failure to comply with House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa’s subpoena for Fast and Furious documents is an indicator of his overall disregard for congressional oversight. “It’s abundantly clear that when it comes to cooperating with Congress, the Attorney General’s arrogance knows no bounds,” Cornyn told TheDC. President Barack Obama now has a responsibility to step forward and make...

Brian A. Terry Memorial Act creates political dilemma for Obama(Murdergate)

“Legislation to honor fallen Border Patrol agent Brian A. Terry unanimously passes U.S. Senate,” a May 9 press release from the Office of Congressman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., announces. “The Brian A. Terry Memorial Act, sponsored by Issa with nearly seventy bipartisan cosponsors, will rename the United States Border Patrol Station in Bisbee, AZ to honor the memory of Agent Brian Terry who was gunned down in the line of duty by heavily-armed drug smugglers on December 14, 2010. Terry died the following day,” the release states. “Weapons found at the scene were connected to the Department of Justice’s reckless Fast...

Obama, Holder silent as (border agent) Brian Terry memorial act unanimously passes House, Senate

Obama, Holder silent as Brian Terry memorial act unanimously passes House, SenateBy Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller – 3 hrs ago President Barack Obama maintains silence on the Brian A. Terry Memorial Act that passed the Democratic-controlled Senate unanimously on Tuesday evening. The Republican-controlled House passed it unanimously in December. Drug cartel members used guns the Obama administration allowed to fall into their hands via Operation Fast and Furious to murder Terry, a Border Patrol agent, on Dec. 15, 2010. Representatives for the White House didn’t answer The Daily Caller’s requests for comment about the act that passed both...

House Oversight Committee Makes Case for Contempt of Congress in “Fast & Furious”(Murdergate)

Charlotte, NC --(Ammoland.com)- Back in February, U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) promised to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if Holder didn’t hand over Justice Department documents that had been subpoenaed as part of an ongoing investigation into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ now-infamous “Operation Fast and Furious” gun-walking operation. This week, Rep. Issa –chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee– made good on the pledge and sent out a draft Contempt Order against Holder to members of the committee. The document makes a case for holding the beleaguered U.S. Attorney General...

Is Fast and Furious the Next Watergate?

When suspects in a crime are interrogated, they often develop memory loss. When the crime is running guns to drug cartels on both sides of the border, the crime involves the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol officer, Brian Terry, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, Jaime Zapata, and countless Mexican citizens. Katie Pavlich has written an extraordinary expose, "Fast and Furious: Barack Obama's Bloodiest Scandal and its Shameless Cover-Up" (Regnery Publishing). She is a veteran agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) who has meticulously documented a story that should result in contempt of Congress action...

‘Gunwalker’ suspect gave ATF and border authorities plenty of clues amidst lies

From his hospital bed in Birmingham, Ala., Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars has obtained a copy of the Department of Justice Report of Investigation of the incident where an ATF agent let a surveilled suspect with prior arrests go, after giving him a $10 bill with her phone number written on it in exchange for his pledge that he’d lead her to bigger fish. “During the inspection, a Border Patrol Agent assisting the CBPOs [Customs and Border Protection Officers] performed Treasury Enforcement Communication Systems (TECS) subject queries on the subjects which disclosed CELlS-ACOSTA was under investigation for firearms trafficking,”...

The Third Gun (Holder out to discredit Fast & Furious truth)

The Department of Justice is using the liberal “watchdog” group Media Matters for America to deflect questions about the Fast and Furious scandal, including those regarding a gun that might have been used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent. A new book raises questions as to whether the FBI hid the existence of a weapon recovered at the scene of murdered U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Conservative commentator and author Katie Pavlich lays out evidence she says points to a FBI cover-up to protect a confidential informant in her recently released book, Fast and Furious: Barack...

Obama Justice Department Now Referring Reporters to Media Matters

Late Friday afternoon, Free Beacon reporter CJ Ciaramella requested a comment from the Justice Department about my new book Fast and Furious: Barack Obama's Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Coverup. This was the response he received.   That's right folks. Media Matters, the far Left website funded by George Soros, is now serving as a mouth piece for the United States Department of Justice. Not only did DOJ refer Ciaramella to Media Matters for information about Operation Fast and Furious, but didn't even refer him to material that had anything to do with his original question about the FBI covering...

No More "Mr. Obama Is a Nice Guy" (He's Anything but)

There is a reflexive desire among a certain species of moderate Republicans to be perceived as "civil" by liberal opponents who believe that the mere existence of free-market, limited-government conservatism is an indecent affront to humankind. All aboard the U.S.S. Lost Cause. This disastrous, bend-over bipartisanship is a hard habit to break. In 2008, Arizona Sen. John McCain rode the "Barack Obama is a nice guy, but vote for me" wave to crashing defeat. In 2012, McCain's endorsee, Mitt Romney, has made "Barack Obama is a nice guy but in over his head" a standard stump-speech talking point. Conservatives of...
